Blue Monday

I just love this idea of having blue hued champagne. If we were having alcohol at our wedding I would so do this.

Tisk Task Tuesday

Countdown: 242 days

I had a very productive wedding weekend. I bought the other three zippers I was looking for and I went to High Fashion and bought my bridal loops that I needed for my wedding dress. I also had my two appointments with florists this weekend and I went with my foster mom. We chose to go with Sarah's Florist for the flowers for the wedding party. Chuck was very helpful and gave us a lot of advice.

The groom, 7 groomsmen, 3 ushers and 1 ring bear will be wearing hydrangea boutonnieres. The bridesmaids will be carrying a "salad plate size" bouquet of blue hydrangeas and I will be carrying a "dinner plate size" bouquet of blue hydrangeas with about 15 white tulips. Just to let you know hydrangeas are not cheap nor are flowers for such a large wedding party.

We are really excited though and cant wait to see the final product. Just in case you were wondering our location the Ayva Center is doing the flowers for everything else.

Flourish Friday

So tomorrow I have two appointments with florists to get a better idea of the flowers I want for the wedding and get some prices.

Here's what I'm thinking for my bridal bouquet. Tulips with a ball or two of blue hydrangeas.

Thoughtful Thursday

Diets have been on my mind a lot lately as I have recently gained a lot of weight as a result of living with someone else temporarily while our house is getting built. This is not good as I have my first fitting for my wedding dress in October.

Now I've been in this predicament before and actually lost 30lbs by doing ediets.com and working out like 6 days a week. So I know how to loose weight but I have until this week lost the motivation to do anything about it and just making excuses. Well NO MORE EXCUSES!!!!!

But now I need help going in the right direction. I am already running twice to three x a week at a park with one of my bridesmaids when I can but that hasn't been enough. I fasted yesterday and made it through the day but all I ended up with was a HUGE headache. So today I had a fiber one granola bar for breakfast and for lunch I had grilled tilapia, green beans, and cabbage. Pretty healthy huh?

Can anyone give me any advice on how they have lost weight for their wedding or in general? Any advice is much appreciated!

Wedding Wednesday

So I have started thinking about whether I want to wear a veil or not for the ceremony. When the ceremony was originally outside I was not going to wear one. I was going to wear my hair down with a flower in it. Now my ceremony is a little more traditional and will be held inside. Now I'm wearing my hair up and its time for me to start thinking about how I want to wear it and the accesories I'm going to use.

I am really not a big fan of veils. But I am digging the birdcage veils. I think it might be a little informal but I like that it is different and it really has a sophisticated look to it. I'm also not sure if it would go with my dress.

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about for those of you who aren't sure what a birdcage veil is.

What do you think? Like or dislike?

Tisk Task Tuesday

Countdown: 249 days
Last week I researched some nearby hotels for my out-of-town guests and found one that is only 7 minutes away from my location and is fairly cheap! It is the Holiday Inn Express on 59 South and Hilcroft. I blocked 10 rooms but am still waiting on the contract before I post to my wedding website to let my guests know.

Also last week I went to Hancock Fabrics and bought 3 of my 6 bridesmaids zippers for their dress. I still need to buy the other three and I am still looking for bridal loops for my dress. Hancock Fabrics said they have been discontinued so if anyone knows where I can find this, please let me know!

This Saturday I have two appointments to visit some florists to discuss options and prices for our bouquets and boutonnieres. I am going to Lexis Florist & Sarahs Florist. Has anyone ever used/heard of them before?

Blue Monday

CAKE. The wedding cake plays an important role in the wedding. It should act as the perfect accent and should of course taste delicious! I am very fortunate that one of my good friends and bridesmaid's mom is going to make our wedding cake & Joey's grooms cake. Thank you Patty! When Joey and I started looking at wedding cakes the only thing we really knew that we wanted was a square cake. Not only do square cakes feed more people but it's more modern as well.

We had a couple of pictures in mind that we found from The Knot that we liked and then a couple of weeks ago I found the perfect cake! I think it will make a perfect addition to our wedding and really tie into our theme of modern and classic.

I am not sure if we will put flowers on the side or not because our flowers are tulips & hydrangeas and I'm not sure if they will look good on the cake. We will have to see.
