Thoughtful Thursday

For this week's Thoughtful Thursday, I want to get your thoughts on changing to another outfit at the end of your reception. What do you think? Did you stay in your wedding dress to leave your reception or did you change?

I am thinking about changing into a coctail dress at the end of my reception for when we leave to hotel. I think its a good idea because that way the person you put in charge for getting your dress cleaned can take it and you don't have to worry about it while you're on your honeymoon.

Heres a pic of the pattern for the dress I'm going to change into. (Pattern A)

Wedding Wednesday

If you are looking for dresses for your bridemsaids to wear, I would suggest looking into getting them made. I was very lucky to find someone to make my dress and my six bridesmaids dresses very cheap. The patterns are also pretty cheap and luckily I got mine on sale. You can find patterns and fabrics at either Hancock Fabrics or Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts.

Where did you get your dresses from or did you get them made?

Tisk Task Tuesday

Thanks to The Knot I am able to keep track of what I need to be doing each month to make sure I don't get behind with wedding stuff. They have this great checklist tool that you can use and depending on when your wedding date is has reminders of this months to dos.

This week my main priority is to get my guest list finalized. I am waiting on a few names from Joey's dad and my foster mom. Right now we have 127 guests on the guest list to be invited. Then I will need to get everyone's addresses because our save the dates will be getting mailed in the next week or two. Hopefully I can get this done by Friday!

Blue Monday

I really like this cake that I found on The Knot. I like square cakes and how it gives it a nice modern look. My cake that I'm having is a 3 tiered squared cake.

Flourish Friday

It is time for me to start thinking about the kind of flowers I want for my wedding. Since it is taking place in the Spring I do want seasonal flowers. I have a few that I have in mind. I love tulips, calla lilies, hydrangeas and orchids.

On Fridays I will be sharing a picture of a bouquet or centerpiece flowers that I really like. This week I chose a bouquet of white mini calla lilies with a pearl wrap around the stems. Just classic!

My Save the Date

Thoughtful Thursday

So in my midst to try to write a post every day, I am going to try to have a theme for each day of the work week.

Here is what I came up with:

Blue Monday
Tisk Task Tuesday
Wedding Wednesday
Thoughtful Thursday
Flourish Friday

So for my first Thoughtful Thursday, I'd like to get your thoughts on the following video clip http://blog.ourweddingday.com/3563297. I think it's hilarious! I would never do anything like this but think it definitely brings a different vibe to a wedding.

Color Me Blue

So according to the Perfect Palette, one of the most important things you can do when planning your wedding is picking your color palette. I have to agree with this. Your wedding revolves around the colors that you pick.

When I was first thinking about my wedding, I wanted an outside spring wedding with my bridesmaids in pastel color dresses. After talking to my fiance, I quickly learned that the pasetl colors weren't going to fly. So after our discussion we compromised on shades of blue. Our main colors are a midnight blue and a crystal/light blue. We will be adding touches of white and silver in our accessories and reception decor.

What is your color palette or what would you like it to be?

Falling for the Falls

When Joey and I first started talking about where we wanted to go for our honeymoon our first destination pick was Rome. Joey loves history and really enjoys roman history. We wanted to see the Coliseum and the Pantheon and eat some authentic Italian food. Unfortunately a trip to Rome is not cheap! The plane tickets themselves were $2,000.

So one day I was driving to work and heard some one on the radio talk about Wichita Falls and it made me think of Niagara Falls. So I started researching everything we could do at Niagara Falls and how much it would cost and made the decision that this would be a fun & romantic place for us to go on our honeymoon.

We will be spending four nights at the Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Spa in Niagara Falls, Canada. The room has an AMAZING view. While we're there we would like to

•Take a helicopter tour. niagarahelicopters.com•Take a journey behind the falls. niagaraparks.com
•Visit the bird kingdom. birdkingdom.ca
•Take a ride on the maid of the mist. maidofthemist.com
•Eat dinner at the Skylon Tower. skylon.com
•Visit the Nightmares Fear Factor. nightmaresfearfactory.com

So where did you go on your honeymoon or planning on going?

Rings in a Box

Rings in a box or rings on a pillow? Well I have decided that our ring bearer, Joey's cousin, will carry our rings in a box. It is very elegant & classy. Also I think a box is more useful afterward. It will be engraved with a 'L' and can be used as a jewelry box after the wedding.

What are your thoughts? Did your ring bearer carry your rings in a box or on a pillow?
